hey guys

whats the reference evga coolers like on their GPU's?

how noisy are they and whats the temps like?

cheers

Which card exactly?
The 680 one is the NVidia reference which is decent
Their 670 one is actually a bit better than the NVidia one, bigger heat sink and different, quieter fan, other base model 670s can run a bit hot and noisy when overclocking

I don't have first hand experience of the 660ti, but it looks the same as the 670 cooler, but the 660ti should run cooler and correspondingly quieter

on my 670's, when pushing the maximum OC's (1200+ which is very good for a 670) they would get noisy, but on a "normal" OC they were perfectly palatable

I could keep it below 80 if I set the fan to 85%, with clocks of 1250 on my best one, my other one was easier to keep cooler but it only clocked to just over 1200
this was too loud for me and I would run 1150, 60% fan for every day use (until I watercooled them)

the 660ti is a much lower powered card though, so should be much easier to keep cool even on a very decent OC

you might get in trouble for posting up a direct link to another shop, even though it's EVGA's own... if you can get the FTW+ for basically the same price I would be tempted to get that, as it's a 680 PCB and cooler (e.g. much better on both counts)

Hmmm

To buy now or wait..... I just dont know lol

What res do you play at and has the 660 struggled with anything?

OR do i get two 670's in SLI BUT are they worth the extra £120 over the 7950 twin frozr iii?

when are the new nvidia cards due?
