EVGA RMA experience

I sent an email and a link to the thread to the 'direct supervisor' yesterday morning and am still awaiting a response. I will let you know what he says.

I also was told by the guy dealing with my case originally 'The probably outcome would be that we can process the graphics card if we
apply the thermal paste by ourself. The price for this would be EUR 60 plus
VAT 19% (EUR 71.40 in total) because this has to be done by a qualified
technician.'

Think that works out at £63 for the application of thermal paste...

It's a joke surely?

I'm sure you can remember putting thermal compound on! Seems to me they are either dumb or trying to rip you off, by making out your a liar.

Next time buy BFG ;)

Thanks for putting this up, was going to buy my next SLI set up on the basis of their customer care is second to none. Ill stay well clear with crap like this and go BFG, companys need to learn it can take years to build a good rep and seconds to brake one

It seems like the problem was you didn't return the card how they wanted it, AS5 on the ram is not going to work because the card and coolers rarely make good contact with the chips. I think they wanted you to put some thermal pads onto the ram so the card was in a working condition.

The problem with EVGA is it seems as though they asked you to do this but perhaps weren't explicit enough with their instructions.

I hope your email recieves a good response, keep us posted, as there are lots of EVGA users on here who I'm sure would like to know.

Yeah I didn't actually think of that, maybe he did mean pads and not paste? but his email states paste, and I have copies of all correspondance so far. Shame I am still waiting...

dont think il ever buy EVGA.

the fancy packaging and stickers isnt worth it.

Must say, this does come as a concern as one of the only reasons I went with EVGA was due to their warranty. I know some will argue that that was a stupid reason to buy a card and I should've gone for the cheapest - seem's they may be right ;)

Well I emailed the MD of EVGA Europe after getting nowhere with the first or second guy I spoke to there. He replied very quickly and said he will get back to me tomorrow.

Sounds promising.

Just got an email back from the MD 'We replaced your board today.
Next time, please use heatpads when mounting the cooler. ' So I assume that was the issue, they must have meant use heatpads, or not realised that paste would not make the connection.... either way. I'm just waiting for my replacement card now, no idea what it is.

Been without my PC for quite a while and just looking forward to be able to use it again!
