EVGA RMA - Impressed

And your problem with that, if true, is what.

When you RMA a card and they send you a used card which you know was damaged or faulty then repaired you should be upset?

Because that's exactly what you'd get back if you waited for them to examine and fix your card.

Being sent a working card before they even touch the returned card reduces downtime for the customer.

So if you bought a 980TI that fails after 30 days and they replaced it with a 1/2 year old card you would be happy? A few years ago this happened to me when my monitor failed after 2 months, the replacement that the manufacturer sent me was nearly 3 years old and in a terrible state. I would have preferred to have had mine repaired but it wasn't an option.

I wish EVGA would also make amd cards, after reading asus and other company rma horror stories, I'd like my next card to be an evga card but want the choice between green and red :)
Same. It's a shame that they are exclusive Nvidia partner.

Would love buy graphic card from EVGA, but consider that I don't want to buy (Nvidia) graphic card that will stop getting performance optimisation for new/future games as soon new gen card get released, that would mean it would probably never happen...

My G2 1300w has started making coil whine, since I have gone SLI 1080s?

Same thing happened to me when i went crossfire on mine, i think its just bad luck as its still functioning fine, just been a bit noisy. Luckily when i switched to SLI i havent noticed any coilwhine. Im quite suprised as i thought these would make it whine more as theyre using a bit more power.

Trying to build a high end PC that is also silent is almost impossible, There will probably some buzzing or coil whine somewhere. If you are sat in a quiet room listening for it, you will notice it, but if you just play games or watch TV or whatever it should not be a problem, if its so loud you can hear it over fans and game or TV noise etc. then it is a problem.

Get over it, plenty of people still enjoying older gen cards.

I think for your happiness you should avoid manufacturers with quick RMA options.

It is after all trying to please people who want functionality back as soon as possible.

If what you actually want is to be able to look up the serial number and feel bettered with the replacement it sounds unsuitable.

My EVGA 1080 FE has bad coil whine and I started a support ticket on Monday about it.

The support ticket has been answered, RMA started, RMA approved and now the advanced replacement has already been sent to me via UPS and it's only Tuesday

That's some lightening fast service! Hope the replacement has less coil whine though
