Hi all,

I was looking to get a EVGA GFX card next time, now I heard of their step-up program. Has anyone had any experience with this, is is solid and easy? How is the price you have to pay when you do the step-up? Thought it might be good if I get a EVGA card and do a step-up later, would it save me money? Thanks in advance

Its a rip-off, cheaper to sell the card yourself and buy the next one, as its EVGA's price you have to go by, so if they say the next card up is £450, but you can buy it from say here for £350, it doesn't matter, you have to pay the extra to EVGA's £450 price. :)

Well I stepped up from a 7950 GX2 in January to a 8800GTX - including shipping it came to around €103 that I had to pay to get the new card. At that time that was around £70 - which was a good deal I felt at the time.

Overall I was very happy with the process, European prices are quoted in Euros and if the exchange rate is in your favour it can be quite a good deal.

but surely the card you are stepping up from will also be more expensive than from elsewhere too reducing the gap?

Your still going to get ripped off big style though, as the card you are going to is more expensive from EVGA, when you could probably buy it from an etailor at £100 less, so its best selling your EVGA card yourself, and then buying the next EVGA one from the etailor as it works out cheaper.

The step-ups a con.
