Any one ever used this service?
I bought an EVGA 980TI 4 weeks ago (needed it for my VIVE), and as the 1080 series is due to land 4 weeks from now, I should have around 4 weeks to make use of the EVGA step-up program. I expect the price of the 1080 will be very similar to the £560 I paid for my 980ti.

Any flaws in this plan? :D

No flaws, just that it can take a number of weeks for you to get a card assigned via step up.

Does it have a 10 year warranty and/or did you register within 14 days of purchase?

3 year warranty and I didn't register within 14 days - looks like I'll need to purchase an extended warranty too, but that's fine by me.

I was going to wait to see what AMD comes out with but I may just buy a 970 now and then step up when the new cards drop.

Me. I got the 2 year to 5 year step up warranty for my 980Ti classified, cost about £20 and should increase the sale value in a few years I expect. Its none transferable but I don't mind sorting warranty out for anyone who buys it after ~3 years

Given how long it takes to have a step up processed you'd be much better off just waiting the couple of weeks (or longer if wanting a custom cooler) until they come out.
