Evga stepup program and 8800

Price is $689.00 for the gtx on the evga site and i will be paying $231 (£121) to stepup from a 7950gx2.

Cheers Khemist.
$689  that works out at £380 GBP  hope it wont cause problems tho as I paid £408 from OCUK  , so I wonder if they pay me after deducting shipping ???
I might try and step up now if thats the price, as I dont need to wait for prices to come down. :D

Khemist, If you have to pay £121 and the GTX is £380 on EVGA's site doesn't that mean they are only giving you £259 for your GX2? :(

689.00 euro = 464.027 GBP that sounds more like it i think.
Yeah that seems more realistic, unfortunatly :(

If I paid £340 before VAT/TAX (just looked at reciept works out at £400 inc VAT) then I'm looking at paying £124 + delivery :(

Thanks Khemist. :)

Where do you find out where you are in the queue? Or will they email and tell you that you are now in the queue? :P

So excited :D

8800GTX in SLI, here I come :D

Have a look at the stepup progress under "support" when you login to eVGA. It will show you at the bottom. Check eon's post, #14 above.

I take it you traded in two cards at the same time Sudden?

Do you know if they will be able to be sent at the same time and deliver the 8800's at the same time too, imagine having one card at say number 5 in the que and one card at number 7. :o

Thanks :) Got the queue no's
35 and 37

Leuven, yea, two cards. I think it said in *** FAQ or something that therer's no cross posting. So they'l ship the card only after they recieve yours.
I was planning to send one, get a 8800, then send my second. I don't think it should be too much of an issue when I send it.

I just hope I don't get hit too hard for posting. I've lost the original packing :(
Have all thes tuff, I think, that came with it, just not the boxes.

Also, could anyone who'se stepping up from a 7950 GX2, tell me exactly what all came with the box? I just want to be sure I don't send back less stuff and fail the step-up because of that. Thanks :)

Most people will have to find an old Graphics card to use untill the new ones arrive.

I think they charge you a bit for the missing stuff IIRC.

I have one of mine sat in it's box ready to go to EVGA,

Inside the box is a blue and grey cardboard folder about size A5, that has a users guide, display driver CD ROM and two stickers inside it.
Theres a:
S-Video > Component cable.
A Twin Molex > PCI-E cable.
An S-video cable.
A GX2 GPU. ;)

If i bought a 7900 gto from an auction site (NEW) would it still be eligible for step up within 90 days?

If im correct you can step up ANY NEW card you buy (limited or not) to one that is on the evga step up list (ie. those that are not limited)

Please clarify

Is it worth the risk for 90 days? I'd get a new 7900GS, and hold off the will to overclock (not easy with the 7900 series I understand).

Back on topic, I get the feeling that you need the receipt and to have purchased it from a recognised distributer - sorry I cannot source that info.

I'm almost sure that you can't buy it from an auction site and do it. You need to buy it from a recognized distributor as melbourne said. It says so somewhere on the EVGA site.

Finally sorted my Step Up from the 7950GX2 to the 8800GTX, £80 paid out to EVGA for the pleasure, £15 to my bank for the international money transfer and finally £50  to DHL to send it to Germany.

Still it's cheaper than buying one off the shelf!

£50 for DHL? What the hell did you do that for man???

I paid £9 or something to post mine and it took 3/4 days via Royalmail Airsure

Recommended by a work mate & desperate to get the thing out the door. Work away a lot you see & only had Sunday home this month to get the card out & sent off. :D

Don't suppose anyone knows how long I'll have to wait for my new GTX? They received it on Tuesday but I haven't heard anything from them as yet, the web page hasn't been updated either, lol still showing as waiting for me to respond to the 1st email they sent me. :)
