got this emailed to me today lol.

Dear EVGA Member,,
Thank you for your purchase from EVGA! We like to make sure that you are receiving and will continue to receive a great experience with your EVGA product.

Have you looked inside your system recently? Dust can be a tough foe against your hardware and EVGA is here to help. Take a few minutes to open up your system and make sure your system is running clean and cool at the same time. Here are some simple steps to keep your EVGA product running for a lifetime of use.

1. Every 30 days get some canned/compressed air and clean out your system. Dust can cause heat issues which can lead to hardware failure if not maintained and cause an unwanted RMA in the future. Remove your components one at a time to thoroughly clean them. Take the time to keep your system clean and keep it running.

2. Preventing dust is just as important as keeping it out of your system. Some cases have built in filters to prevent dust and build up from entering your case. Make sure to clean or replace any filters to maintain good clean airflow into your EVGA system. Don’t have any filters? Take a look online for some simple ways to add filters to your case and keep it clean.

3. Running water cooling? Have you flushed your system recently? Water cooling can become a nightmare if not maintained. Make sure to flush your system to prevent mold, algae and build up from creating complications. Make sure to clean your system fans at the same time, blocked air flow on your radiator can cause just as much trouble.

Following these simple steps to maintain your EVGA system will improve your gaming experience and keep you fraggin’ for a lifetime.

Thank you,
EVGA Customer Service

Seems a bit cheesy to me. People who watercool their PCs should surely know how to look after their PCs, plus, "dust" itself is harmless, it's only when it clogs fans and heatsinks up that it becomes a problem.

Dust seems to be a big issue with evga, i sent them a spotless motherboard for an upgrade, (cleaned with compressed air prior to shipping, photos taken to prove this), they turned the upgrade down due to the board being "full of brown dust". Seems like a handy get out clause for them to avoid upgrades/rma's.

2. Preventing dust is just as important as keeping it out of your system. Is it only me who thinks this is... Wrong? As in, term wise..
Preventing it, is keeping the dust out?

Thats a bit evil.

Massive cop out. I'd be inclined to believe this was illegal.

I believe they mean preventing dust from ever reaching the system.

1. If you have family pets, have them exterminated.

2. Family members should wear full cover bodysuits at all times to capture any dead skin that might destroy your computer.

3. All windows should be closed, or bricked up.

4. Enjoy your new system!

Certainly was.

Thought that myself as well, the board lay in their factory and got shifted about quite a bit for three weeks, as they were in the middle of moving headquarters. When i did finally get it back it died a few days later. It was a perfecty working board when i sent it off.:(

I would have windmilled over that.

lol looks like EVGA are doing their best to not go the way of BFG with the 10 year warranty/lifetime in US and limit RMA's as much as possible.

LOL
I wouldn't buy anything with a 10 year warrenty anyway short of a car....

I heard apple did something simlier...but this time for smokers dunno if that is true...

I don't need to go into detials consdering we all seen insdie of a couple year old
powersupply unit when the owner smokes like a steam train :p

I think 3 years is enough for PC stuff as I m likey not to benifit from it anyway

EVGA starts selling 480gtx's, then starts sending out e-mail begging customers to keep their systems as clean and with as high cooling potential as possible.......... I think I spot me a coincidence :p

It coincided more with previous generations of Nvidia cards dropping like flies. EVGA would be obliged to give a 4 series as a replacement now.

I have seen lots of EVGA warranty rejections in the last few months due to dust.

It seems that's their easy get out clause nowadays and EVGA 10 year warranty is no better/worse than any other manufacturers 2/3 year warranty IMO.

I prefer EVGA's customer service and support, and anyone with any sense would clear their faulty card of dust before they sent it in for an RMA. A HS full of dust can increase temps dramatically so I don't blame AIB's for denying RMA's on grounds such as a card being caked in dust.

Well sure. But given setter sent back a spotless mobo, and they still claimed it was dusty, that's pretty shocking to be fair.

Setter, the dude that's gone through 50 GTX275 RMA's. :p Of course I'm not saying he doesn't know what he's doing....

Neither do I but it's when they claim it has dust on and it doesn't when sent that bugs me.

Plus my last dealings with EVGA took 7 weeks for a replacement, hardly good service.

yeah EVGA's service is utterly shocking.

have you ever had to use it Raven ? You seem to be going on about it being good quite a bit.
