Evga warranty

I had an evga 780ti fail on me 6 months ago thankfully it was still in warranty and they replaced it with a 1060 now after 5 months their brand new card they replaced it with has gone again?

Now they're stating no warranty claim can be made ?

It's a brand new 1060 shouldn't the warranty be assigned to this gpu ?

Warranty continues from the original purchase date, you dont get a brand new card with a brand new warranty, so it will run up to whatever the end date would have been on he 780ti

Having said that a 1060 in place of a 780ti is a bit tight.

Yeah considering my 780ti was under water and I had to completely strip my loop,

And use it on air as the 1060 they sent me didn't have a compatible water block.

I'm not happy about this at all

I would expect any warranty replacement to come with a new warranty, at least 12 months at the very least.

I'd be emailing them back making references to trading standards!!!

OP: what happens in the EVGA portal when you register the 1060?

on my last EVGA RMA it currently states their replacement as the same purchase date as the original GPU and states this

From EVGA RMA: Product follows warranty of original product. Contact EVGA Customer Service for details.

The replacement will have the same warranty date as the original card as andybird said, it is the same with most things not just graphics cards.

If you got a new 3 year warranty every time you could keep rolling them over.

Pretty poor show the 1060 only lasting 5 months though.

It should be warranty from original purchase date, plus down-time without a card during RMA, and then a good company will know to throw in a little more time on top of that for your troubles, and not be too tight.

Warranty never gets added on replacements why would it? Customers would end up with infinity warranties.

It's always carried on from original purchase.

It sucks the 1060 failed but I'm surprised you accepted a1060 as a replacement ltbf.

Why would you not accept a 1060, it out performs the 780Ti in every game and some by a big margin too with some games going from 40fps to 60fps average as shown here for example:

1060 is around 10-15% faster.

OP unfortunately that's the case for all product warranty, think you have to bite the bullet.
