Hey guys, just a quick question.

After 7 years of use the Northbridge fan on my EVGA X58 SLi has developed a pretty bad rattle (bearings probably gone) any idea if it's safe to run without the fan or know of anywhere I could acquire a replacement?

Pic for reference.

Could see if a spot of oil will help.

Remove the fan, peel the sticker off the rear of the fan you should see the bearing, drop a bit of light oil on it and see if it helps.

I do this with all my old stuff, did it just yesterday with a old psu and its silent again

Hopefully Mrjobby's advice will sort it out however if it does conk out and you can't get a replacement you could always get a decent heatsink on there.
