Can this run TriFire (6990+6970)? Seems to be advertised as SLI... but not sure as been out of loop for ages whether it can run ATi crossfire as well? Or do I need this?

Trying to choose what to buy and looking at this as a possible... will be pairing it with possibly 32GB ram and an i7 3820... look like a decent combo?

These PCI-E slots are reserved for Graphics Cards and PCI-E x1, x4, x8 and
x16 devices. The design of this motherboard supports multiple Graphics Card
technologies such as SLI or CrossFireX.

But it's not really confirming if it supports it. On the other hand while I was googling, it seems this board suffers from a faulty BIOS chip, and may require EVGA to send you an updated one if you're unlucky.

How about this board? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-057-AK&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2174
