Hey guys, I got one of these boards last Tuesday and ive been having an odd issue so was basically wondering if any other owners have had this?
Basically if I let the onboard NIC auto negotiate its speed it picks gigabit and doesn't work properly, if I set it to manual and set gigabit the same thing happens, but if I set it to 100mb (full or half duplex) it will be usable but still ends up getting occasional DC's in WoW and from Ventrilo.
To explain the issue, if I load the OCUK forum from my browsers favourites with the NIC set to gigabit or auto it will take ~10 seconds to load (if it doesn't fail). this is compared to it happening almost instantly on my previous setup (Z68 board and ivy bridge Xeon), by setting 100mb manually it will load pages fine but still suffers what I would class as connection stability issues.
The NIC is a Marvell Yukon 88E8059 and Googling the issue I only found one other person with this board seeking help on the same issue so I don't think its a common problem. As far as error testing goes I am running Windows 8 so to ensure that wasn't the culprit I booted a Ubuntu live CD and the issue was replicated (under auto negotiation, I don't know how to set it manually in Ubuntu). Then to check the hardware side I dropped in an Intel PRO/1000 PT Gigabit PCI-E card which works flawlessly.
Any advice would be appreciated please.
