EVGA XC3 3080 and feeling dense

No, not feeling dense because that’s the card I chose, almost none of the others fit in my NZXT H1, but feeling dense because despite looking at all the product pages I can’t work out what the material difference between the Black (the one I ordered), the er, normal one, and the ultra is apart from a very minor bump to boost clocks for the ultra and a metal backplate on a couple of them.

Considering there’s about a £50 price difference top to bottom can anyone explain what I’m missing?

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head, seems to be just the metal backplate and the factory overclock that differentiates them.

Yep, the Black doesn't have the metal backplate or OC
Gaming has the backplate but no OC
Ultra has the backplate and small OC

XC3 are not binned so there no reason to go Ultra, I went for gaming back when there was only £20 differance and prices were close to rrp
