Anyone spending £300+ on a mobo to go tri or quad SLI/Xfire should already be on soc 2011, so what's the point in this board at a mental price?

I heard that the heat-sinks are round because there's batteries inside them to give more power to the CPU...

When the word flagship is used in a title next to the word EVGA, why are long standing forum members who clearly know the brand and their previous product portfolio price points, surprised when a flagship board is expensive.

It was hardly going to be a £150 board realistically was it.

Its no more expensive than any of the other ultra high end z77 boards.

But as was asked earlier, surely the X79 platform would do the 3/4-way job better for that price, plus having extra memory bandwidth?

Expensive? yes, but compared to its direct competition? noooooo

I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised by the price, when EVGA say "We've got a new board" I immediately start thinking, oh really and how much more expensive is it than the same spec from "Insert absolutely any other manufacturer name here"?

Nice looking board, I like the heatsinks. But am I the only one bored of black and red? It's like when tamagotchi first came out. One company did it well, and then every Tom, Dick and Harry followed suit with their own.

We need more chrome on motherboards.
