EVGA's step up program what the deal here?

i would like to know who do you send the old card to and who will give the new card?

Good question. And do they offer this worldwide as well or only certain countries

"Please make sure that the card is professionally packed and secured before shipping back to EVGA"

"Once you have submitted your information and you are approved for the Step-Up™ Program, EVGA must receive your card with in 15 days. Once we receive your graphics card it will take 1-3 business days to process your step up submission. At this point any charge overage or underage will be assessed. Once this is completed your new card will be shipped to you."

little more specific please? does the card go back to evga? do you pay evga directly? does evga send you the new card?

Etailors have nothing to do with the step-up programme or warranty on EVGA cards. EVGA do it all themselves as able to give better support/service. Yes you send cards back to them, yes they charge you and yes they ship replacement out.

I bought an EVGA 7800GT in Feb. Thought about stepping up to te 7900 cards when they came out but the deal just wasn't worth it. As I remember the EVGA price listed on their website was so high compared to online stores it was not worth it.

As I remember it is the price on the website you have to pay.

I think you can go to the site and fill the form in, see what they are charging for cards - you get country specific prices as I remember.

Memory is fading though - February was a long time ago :o

If this turns out to be a con then I will be really hacked off.

I hope the G80 is not like 500 quid from them when you can get it else where for like 375.

This would make the setp up program useless

I bought my 7900gtx back in apr / may 2006....

so are you guys saying I could upgrade on this "programme" for free? or wait for the DX10 card to be released then do so?

please clarify

thanks

I was thinking about this and it will obviously be at their SRP so I just decided to go and get a X1900XT crossfire solution which will cut through anything out there at the moment and should hold it's value well enough on ebay for me to upgrade for around the same price in december (fingers crossed)
