I've had a hankering to play a game like Evil Genius again, so much so I'm now playing it for the 3rd time round. I tried playing Dungeon Keeper 2 again but it's getting a bit old now and the graphics are a bit lacking.

Any ideas? I was just reading another thread and Black & White 2 popped out at me. Think I might get hold of that, not sure if it fits the bill at all though?

MQFEL is as boring as ass after one day.

There is evil genius online being made but it stinks of micro transactions which is a shame and i think its a facebook game too which is dire

Yeah, I hunted if there was any sequels in the making and came across EGO. As you say it's just not the same as it's a time based game. Certain actions can take 8 hours which isn't something that really works as a proper game.

I am playing Spacebase-DF9 at the moment in early alpha but its not bad, also look at Prison Architect.

Hmm, I'll have a look at those. I read about Prison Architect a while back but reluctant to pay for an unfinished game. What are people's thoughts on it? I'm happy to spill if people say it's good and got potential etc.

What about Overlord ? I haven't played it ever, but it's on the humble bundle thingy atm.

Got both of them, not really the same kind of thing. The first one was a lot better than the second though!

Dungeon Keeper and Evil Genius were HUGELY popular games, it actually amazes me that there are not more games like them when you consider how long it has been.

It seems if it's not CoD of Battlefield clone then it's too big of a risk for publishers these days...

I still need to play Evil Genius, do the graphics hold up today?

Definitely, it still looks quite good! It's only when you zoom right in on the minions it gets a bit dated as they're a bit blocky. The environment and room objects still look great, even the reflections on the floors :)

Whatever happened to Evil Genius II ? I remember reading it was supposed to be coming out at one time.

Evil Genius Online ??! http://www.rebellion.co.uk/games/evil-genius-online
not tried it yet but its seems to be via Facebook App.

I loved Evil Genius. This thread has also made me want to play it again after I finish Assassins Creed IV.

EGO is not a game you can just pick up and play. It's like most facebook games where you perform an action and then have to wait x amount of hours. Doesn't really work when you just want to play it there and then.

How about Prison Architect? Still in alpha but fairly well developed. Can get early access access on steam.

I ended up buying just that, then haven't played it since. Think it was a bit a spontaneous buy thinking I'd love it. Built one prison and got to about 50 odd prisoners and stopped. Haven't had the urge to go back. Although that seems to be a trend with all games I've started playing recently.
