i got the ex58-ud5 4.0ghz overclocked bundle (i7 920) from ocuk and noticed today that in the bios the intel turbo boost tech is disabled.

is this suppose to be disabled on this bundle? also, what is the turbo boost tech.

the hyperthreading is enable but turbo boost disable.

many thanks.

turbo boost is a bios feature that will add x1 to your cpu multiplier. the oc bundle would have cpu at 200 x 20 = 4000 or 4ghz. turbo would make it 200 x 21 = 4.2ghz. currently thats what i am running my i7 920 at.
If you dont know anything about overclocking, dont enable turbo boost, because you'll have to fiddle with bios settings to get system stable.
And keep hyperthreading on mind you, no point in disabling it unless your cpu temps are too high

overclocking the 920 to 4ghz is really easy and stable, hence why OC sell those bundles. going above 4ghz on these boards will make a bit of a hassle to try and get it stable, so 4ghz is the most reasonable thing to do
