Hi,

I have a EX58A-UD3R (Rev 1) and whenever I cold boot it I get a warning message saying that the settings have been reset because of overclocking problems. The problem is that it isn't overclocked! I have tried three different Bioses ( 5, 6, 6m) and I still have the same issue. I have 6 Gigs Patriot Viper and have set it to the XMP profile, so I would hope that its not that. Has anyone had this issue or got any advice?

Kind Regards,

Blue

Hello

When you select the XMP you are in effect over-clocking your system. So there you have it.

Now to remedy this situation what you will need to do is tell me what your bios settings are once the XMP profile is active.

A screenshot of CPU-z, front tab and the memory tab would be good.

Plus

Include the bios voltages too please.

This should be a relatively easy fix for you.

Oh yeah the ram will work at that rated spec no problem. That is not the problem I do not think.

The bit you have to understand is that for the ram to work at that level it needs to make change to your system. Most of the time that involves changing your BLK and adding a touch of vTT, or altering the ram ration. This impacts on the un-core and other bits and pieces. That taken with the sad fact not all components are exactly the same. So maybe person 1 will have no problem with the identical set up as you. BUt person 2 has a problem because their CPU does not have as good a IMC, or one of the other countless variables that there might be.

I have subscribed to the thread so will see it when you reply with the screen shots. :)
