Seen slightly conflicting info on the exact length of a GTX and not sure from where to where this measurement is taken.

Can someone with a GTX tell me EXACTLY how long the PCB itself is, i.e. ignore the bracket at the back, just the length of the circuit board please.

26.6cm / 10.5" thats the main PCB.

Thats the Overclockers Std card.

Thats fairly accuarate could not get to close as my pc is still running, usung metal
tape measure

I have had experience with both the GTX and the new GTS.

The GTX has the pci-e connectors at the side and the GTS has them on the end, when on the end - add 1 to 1 1/2" to the cards length.

Thanks for that guys

EDIT: RJC - 10.5" is nearer 27cm than 26, do you know which of those measurements is correct - my tolerances are damn tight here so need to know as exactly as possible :)

Exactly 27cm on the PCB? Bah - won't fit :(
Can't you remove or cutout what is in the way of letting you fit a 8800gtx

Which case are you trying to fit it in ??

I remember how tight a fit my EVGA 8800gtx was in my old SN26P shuttle case

I had to bend over two caps to fit it...

Plus I had to cut a hole in the EVGA 8800gtx heatsink for another two caps to go up through

What psu were you using with the sn26p? Did you have to take the case off? Also, what kind of temps were you getting?

The standard 350watt psu that came with my SN26p shuttle

I used to also leave the shuttle cover off and have a 120mm fan blowing on the rear of the 8800gtx to keep it cool..
(it may of been fine with the shuttle cover on...but i didn't want to risk a brandnew £350 gpu card)

Crap, so the G92 GTS is longer?? Bah, will need to check my new case before ordering. It says it'll take the GTX, so hope there's room to spare!

No the G92 GTS is the more standard length (9 inches) long (Same as the older G80 GTS and the 3870/3850 reference designs.

The power connector however is on the end of the card so you need additional space behind the card to route the power connector to it. In contrast the GTX is 10.5/11" long yes has its power connectors on the side.

Yeah the biggest problem I had with my GTS320 is the power connector in the end, I had to remove a harddrive to allow room for them (and even then they aren't flush in the socket, have to be angled slightly against another HD.

the GTS has a shorter PCB though :)

Okay, I should be alright then. Thanks guys :)
