Hi guys,

Firstly I've looked on Google but can't find anything relevant so thought i'd ask you lot, bare with me on this as it might seem a bit confusing.

I am getting two error messages the first is about check your spelling of the filename as it cannot be located. The second says try clicking file > save as which is what we are doing.

If we try to save the file in to a certain folder it comes up with these errors but if we try and save in to another folder in that root folder it works fine. If we try to create a new excel file/folder we get the same error messages.

We can save to the desktop and move the folder in to the required folder but this isn't really any good as we should be able to save in to the folder anyway. This is on a networked machine on a domain.

Hope that makes sense if anyone can suggest anything or needs more specific info let me know.

thanks.

Check the permissions. Right click on folder > Properties > Security. You might have to go on to Advanced or Special Permissions, can't remember what it is.

But basically, Write means they can create new files in that folder. Modify means that they can amend/save files that already exist in that folder.

Think it's solved. The guy had added his own sync for offline use but it wasn't updating the server as files were created so it was trying to reference things that didn't exist. If that makes sense.
