Hi

Upgraded from Office 2007 to Office 365 about 18 months ago. Had absolutely no issues until today. Opened an old (from 2015) Excel file yesterday. It opened with the Office 2007 version of Excel. Now every Excel file I try to open, opens in 2007 rather than 365. Is it safe to delete Office 2007? Is there a way to specifically link to the 365 version of Excel?

Cheers

Right click on an Excel file and choose Open with > Choose another app and it should give you Office365 as an option.

Thanks for the reply

I don't get Office 365 as an option when I right click and Open with. I can't see where to navigate to either if I go down this route

32 bit version location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16

I'm guessing the 64 bit will be: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16

I'm running Windows 10.

I have tried associating the files to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\Excel but they are still opening in Office 2007

I've been away for a couple of weeks. Tried everything to sort this but then decided to uninstall/reinstall Office 365. I was given the option to Repair the installation and that has sorted everything. (Just in case somebody has the same issue)
