Excel filter question

Hi guys,

A spreadsheet that has been working fine for the past few months has suddenly decided to stop working... well, the filter part anyway

Nothing has changed to the sheet/formula but whereas in the past filtering the sheet would give me an immediate subtotal in my subtotal cell, now I have to double-click on the cell to reveal the formula and then click off it to 'refresh' the data.

Any ideas?

Do you have automatic calculation switched off? Check in Tools - Options - Calculation.

Other than that, not sure. Are the cells formatted as text by any chance?
