Excel function help

Wander if anyone knows how to solve this:

Column A contains dates where A1 = date A2 = date +1 A3 = date +2 etc...

I'd like to be able to enter a date in any cell in column A, say from A1 to A100 and for the rest of the column to be calculated automatically. Not sure if I'm just being dumb but I can't work it out!

Just do, in cell A2, =A1+1. Fill down and that should give you as many dates as you want in date order.

Yes but if I enter that formula into my column and enter a date into A6 then cells A7:A100 will be calculated correctly but cells A1:A6 will remain blank.
