Hey guys,

I'm trying to do conditional formatting in excel, but would like to use the operators in a cell...

For example, I have a sheet called KPI's.... in this sheet... are KPI's ( :p )

In a cell, for example, there would be a heading "green" and a cell contains the value " > 4 " (say this is H2 for example)

and lets say H1 equals "5".

I would like to do conditional formatting that would do "if H1 H5, turn green"
So this would translate to "if 5 > 4, turn green" - But i need to manually enter the greater than sign every time someone wants to change the KPI, and the people that will be changing these aren't comfortable using formulas.

Any ideas if this can be done? (or if this even makes sense!)

I checked that link out - couldn't get it to do what I wanted, but I'm going to convert the spread sheet into a web application soon anyway so dropped this problem.

Thanks for your help though
