Excel help please, nothing too technical...step inside..

I've got some data that ranges from January this year to present. I want to analyse just the data for May - September. I've tried to re-order the data by date to simply fiythings but it puts evereything else out of order?

So I've tried hiding the rows that are not required, then copying the relevant cells to a new workbook to analyse. But the hidden cells come across too!!!??
How can I copy just the data I need and not the hidden cells?

You should be able to highlight the relevant columns, select sort and chose to sort the data by one column. The data in the other columns should still tie up?

You can either create a pivot point table on the existing chart or vlookup from a new spreadsheet.
