I've been trying to find out how to do something in Excel , and haven't been able to figure it out at all.
I'm basically trying to match back orders from customers (Sales Orders) to my back orders with suppliers (Purchase Orders)
I currently have 2 sheets : Purchase Orders, Sales Orders
I initially thought of making a 3rd sheet which basically takes the Quantity from the Purchase Orders/Sales Orders sheets and from there I can use a simple formula to work out totals.
But unfortunately , nothing is that simple
the reasons this doesn't work is because :
1) Many customers order the same product, many items appear 4-5 times on the Sales Order worksheet.
2) We are limited in Qty we can order so items are ordered very frequently across many seperate Orders.
So I guess what would work is a formula similar to Vlookup but for finding multiple identical lines... for example :
Product code in the 3rd worksheet will return total Qty required (sum of all of the Qtys of that product code in the first worksheet) if that makes sense....
Thanks in advance for any advice ... sorry if some of this doesn't make any sense
