Excel links not used but can't delete them?

I have a workbook which used to link to another but I have since removed all links to that particular source but every time I open Excel I get the message about updating links. If I go into Edit Links the link is still there and clicking Break Link doesn't appear to do anything as it just does it again next time I open the file.

Am I missing something or is there a way to remove the links for good? I know you can change the start-up prompt but I would rather remove all mention of this particular file if possible.
