Excel password recovery

I’m looking to recover a read only password from an Excel file. Any recommendations?

as far as im aware bruit force is the only way and that can take week/years depending on how good the password is!

I just have a crappy brute force tool, but on a very powerful server so takes very little time even for a password like that.

There's a far easier way by unzipping the Excel doc and replacing some files
