Excel Pie Chart idea - is it possible?

Hi All

I'm working on a table plan for an event and in order to make it visually simple to see where there are still places free on tables I had the idea of adding a small pie chart for each table which would simply show what percentage of a table was taken and what was free.

I've initially dismissed it as overkill on the small event I'm working on but with a view to larger events I think it might actually work quite well, if it's possible...and that's where I could do with some help from some of you excel geniuses.

Essentially what I would like is to have one worksheet where peoples names are entered and for the pie chart for each table to display the percentage taken in red and the free space in green.

Each pie chart would relate to 10 cells on the names worksheet (which represent the seats on the table), what I'd like it to do then is if the cell is empty to count as a zero and if it is filled in to essentially act as a 1 so the pie chart can work out the percentage that is empty/filled in. Is that something which would be possible and If so any ideas how I might achieve it?

tl;dr Can I make a pie chart which shows the percentage of cell in a range which have been filled in and what percentage are empty?

Hi

I am not sure a pie chart is the right or wrong thing to do, it could be done but spending 2 minutes on excel you could do this (See Attached)

Simply add the table reference to the first table with the persons name and then on the second table add the same table reference and enter the QTY max per table.

I have only spent 2 minutes but could do something more advanced .... but it gives you something to think about.
