Help, dont know how to word this in google but I've been task to devise a simple rota sheet.

I've created a drop down indicating the week commencing for 2012 and below that I've created a little chart which shift people are on.

Problem is, when I choose a date for example Week commencing 02/01/2012 and indicate Employee 1 and 2 are one the 8am shift.

I click on the drop down for the following week 09/01/2012, employee 1 and 2 still show on the 8am shift and should be on the 9am shift.

How do i get the 'indication' to show correctly which box people are on?
Get me?

Surely this either means that your chart is showing them as being on the 8am shift for w/c 09.01.12? Either that or your formulae are wrong. Impossible to say without a sample / more info.

I would personally keep it very simple in your case and just create a massive table detailing each shift on each day (you'll have to do this anyway), then use autofilter to set the date you want to query:

It should do, its just a list with data validation - the same as you already had set up before. Just re-do the validation if its not working.
