Excel Repair tool - Free

Does anyone know of any free excel repair tools?

We have a spreadsheet that cause excel to crash each time it is opened.

We can open it however in OpenOffice's Scalc and it works fine, but nothing we try allows us to open it with Excel again.

We occaisionally get the same problem in word documents at work

There may be something in This utility that may help.....I am not really familiar with Excel so just posting this on the ofchance.

Have you tried the open and repair option. Not many people know about it and it usually does the trick. Sorry if i am insulting your intelligence.
