Hi,

Does anyone know any programs that can open an Excel spreadsheet that I've forgotten a password for? I've heard that they do exist but I'm a bit wary...

Cheers

had a brief look can't find a pricve for the above which must mean big $$$$. A cheaper looking program was $50 through to what looked the dogs at $500.

thb it's probably easiest for me just to redo the work.

thanks anyway mate.

Passware do a tool for $45 (they also do different combinations for more $).

There is probably free software that will do it also, but I don't know of any.

PS I have seen the full passware kit being used so I know it does work.

It needs a password to open so it looks as if I'd have to shell out. I'll have a hunt around for some freeware stuff first though.
Good luck. never found any freeware stuff myself :(

Most of the password recovery programs will have a limited use before they are registered or purchased. Sometimes they will reveal the first few characters of the password. Perhaps this will be enough to remind you what the full password is.

I'm sure someone on these forums has a full password program. If the data isn't confidential and you're lucky enough that they see this thread, they might crack it for you.
