a few weeks ago my 3GS was having problems with the touch screen, where the screen, and onscreen buttons would not work like it had locked up, but would still rotate the screen, and all other buttons (home button etc) worked ok, to get it to work I had to press the sleep button on top then unlock, it would then work ok.
the problem was pretty intermittent :(

today I went to an apple store to see a genius, and even though their diagnostic didn't show anything up, or replicate the problem they did a swap out no fuss at all

have to say I am impressed.

On the flipside, my mate at work took his in today as it screwed up and its gone to get repaired. Now hes without a phone.

It's gone to get repaired? Did he take it to an Apple Store? Because they either swap it out on the spot, or they have to order one in and you have to come back. They never take an iPhone from you to get it repaired, ever.

The vibrate on mine went a couple of days ago. Got it replaced on the spot, no hassle. 2 days left on the warranty too. Phew!

I was in and out of the Regent Street store within 25 minutes, despite it being the usual scrum of tourists and time-wasters.
