I wanted to share my recent experience with Billion support.
The short version is: Billion replaced my 7800N router, despite it being out of warranty and me being the 3rd owner! (I was completely honest with them about both points).
The long version follows...
In March last year, I bought a Billion 7800N router from the Member's Market. Later in the year it developed the (very common) wifi card fault and I had to stop using the built-in wifi functionality.
In November I decided to contact Billion Support, believing that the device was still within the 2 year warranty, and figuring it was worth a try. They responded promptly and asked me to send them a system log. Once they'd looked at the log they confirmed that I did have the wifi card fault.
Billion Support then asked to see the original invoice. I contacted the OcUK seller and asked him for a copy (Billion already knew I was the 2nd owner). When he sent it over I discovered I was actually the 3rd owner, and the router was older than I had originally thought.
Despite the router being way out of its 2 year warranty, Billion were happy to authorise an RMA.
They asked that I wait until after Christmas/New Year to return it. I posted it back last week, and today I received a fully working replacement!
Great support that has really restored my faith in buying Billion products.
