Changed mobo recently and had to repaste.
This is where I got some excess paste, I tried my best to get it off but I couldn't... It won't be a problem will it ?

Temps are about 30c idle -- 61c cyberpunk -- 70c cinebench r23
Ryzen 5 3600

You only need a tiny little dot in the middle and then spread it about with a card over the full lid.

Thanks for the reply, Yes i'm aware of how much to use, it's just I got a tiny bit stuck in the areas shows in the picture when I was cleaning the heatsink.
As others have said it's not a problem so thats cool.

If it bothers you cut a cable tie diagonaly and that makes a better tool to scrape off excess thermal compound on cooler and particularly on Intel And AMD TR CPUs where they have a step on the IHS and can gather compound which can be difficult to wipe off with ISO and kitchen roll.

As long as it doesn't cause any problems i'll leave it and monitor the temps. They seem the same as when I first installed it weeks back.

Unless paste is one of those with with some kind of electric conductivity there's no harm in having some excess.
