Excessive hard drive access

Hi, I recently bought fallout 3 and every time i play my system decides that its going to go into meltdown and try and access the hard drive constantly. :( i had a look into resource manager and system is writing about 200mb per min to the hard drive and is infact accessing the disk a lot more than fallout! Im guessing that its probably a page file thing, but i still have at least 10% free ram, is the lack of free ram still likely to cause problems or is it possibly something else?

System:
Vostro 1700
2GB ram
T7300 2.0 Ghz
160gb HDD 5400rpm, 70% used

Many thanks for any help you can give!!

Vista will thrash your HDD for approx 3 days till Indexing is all done and Superfetch sorted out.

You can help by totally killing indexing and System Restore.

Also adding a Readyboost USB Drive helps tame it a tad more.

I hate indexing and have never used it on XP or Vista, my searches that I rarely do take a few seconds longer, you do not want to listen to random indexing with 2 Raptors X'x all the time.

Do this in Picture (mainly 2nd one).
