Excessive packaging

What is it with companies using excessive packaging? It's so frustrating. Just had this spare battery delivered from GoPro:

Yes, that's the contents still in the box. You'd have thought a company that purely deals with outdoor sports would care about the environment a bit more. More annoyingly than that though is delivery was £10. Why not just stick it in a jiffy and save everyone a load of money?!

Was going to say, Amazon have got a lot better with their packaging.

We were going to but they were the only stockists. Our normal suppliers were both on two week back orders.

We haven't had it long and haven't used it fully but it seems ok. Worse than the Hero and Hero 2 though, hence buying the spare battery for skiing in a week.

Other than that it's an epic piece of kit. The mobile app has completely changed the way you operate it and that alone is worth buying it ahead of the Hero 2.
