Guys,

Does anyone have an idea how I would do the following:

Users send an email to <any fax number>@companyfax.com

This email is then copied, retaining the header to @anotherfaxcompany.com

We have Exchange 2007.

I've attempted setting up transport rules but can't seem to see one that would do the above, - I guess I need to
use some funky OPath filtering?

It will be an external mailbox.

So if the To: field is;

[email protected]

I want it to forward to;

[email protected]

The only issue I see is that i'm not sure what the actual name of the mailbox will be...

It could be;

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

Well basically;

[email protected] would go to -> [email protected]

So all that is altering is the domain name in the email address.

I basically just want a user to send to a friendly domain name (e.g. our company) when the managed service is provided by another company ;-)

Can I sort of do a wildcard catch on;

*@companyfax.com ? and forward this to anothercompanyfax.com ?

The issue is 01552222222 could be any fax number in the world?

Well in the short term we have requested the othercompany allow us to relay from them, and then have set a new DNS zone with an MX record that points to them. We have then set up a new send connector for that domain.

If they agree I guess that will do, however it would be nice to know how to do this via transport rules.
