My company is 'splitting' in half, and hence the need to create a new domain on new servers, with a fresh copy of Exchange 2003 installed.

Any ideas how I copy (not move) some of the mailboxes from one server to another? I can't find any clear guides on doing this.

Also would there be any knock on effects of doing this, e.g. calendar events no longer working?

thanks in advance

[edit] bear in mind the new servers are on a new domain, new forest etc. - thinking about it, would the best way to backup in outlook then copy over?[/edit]

hmm. well i'm not to uptodate on experience with this sort of thing but, you could make a trust link to the domain and transfer the accounts using the "Move account" option thing under AD.

Though i suspect an easyer way so long as you dont have a lot of people is to login to each person and extract there Mail account to PST and then copy the PST to the new servers so people can open then as a normal pst file.
this way you can retain a copy of the data if needed.

my quick thought sorry.

Yeah I think I'll try the second option to .pst, there's only 15 users so shouldn't take too long

thanks
