Hi,
After lots of help with exchange from this thread, we have finally got around to setting up a test network.
I have currently got Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition running on three servers- one has AD, DNS and DHCP installed and is thus the DC, the other two are just member servers- one will become the exchange server, the other will have ISA 2006 installed on it
I am, however, having trouble with installing exchange- to start with they have changed the installation procedure so here's me trying to do 'setup /forestprep' and 'setup /domainprep' on the DC which doesn't work- you now have a load of commands avaliable from 'setup /preparead' to 'setup /prepareschema'
I have been trying 'preparead' because it was the first in the list but it stops with an error- it says that the domain is running in mixed mode when it should be in native mode- this network is an all win server 2003 network so I don't understand it- in the DCPROMO wizard, I made sure I checked the 'permission compatible with windows 200 or later servers'
I have checked in AD domains and trusts and it is indeed running in mixed mode but I cannot find anywhere to change it so any help would be appreciated in getting it installed properly
Thanks
Ben
