Hi guys & girls.
I hope someone can help me. I have a standard AD account for a role in the company, so it's named for the role instead of the actual users' name. This is because of the turnover within this role and potential temp positions.

This account has the default send and receive email address: [email protected] and secondary addresses are [email protected]/co.uk/net
This means he/she will receive emails by their name but the account and mailbox can be carried on if/when they leave and another joins.

What i would like to do though is have a contact on exchange for "firstname lastname" to deliver to this [email protected] so when people internally look for firstname lastname they can find it and use it to email role.role. At the moment some people get confused why the person isn't in GAL because they're looking for their name rather than the roll title.

However, contacts in exchange will only work with external email addresses. All i want to do is have contact in GAL to associate a name with the internal address [email protected] can anyone help me here?
I understand it doesn't look like best practice and i would agree but i have little choice and there is only one role like this so i'm willing to sort it out.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I think best option would be to create the user account with a mailbox as usual and then just forward all mail from the role.role to the user mailbox and then when they leave do the same for the next person.

Alternatively you could make the person name the primary smtp for the role.role account.
