Hi all,

I am hoping that some of you may have had experience of this before and will be able to shed some light on this issue.

One of our clients has a single instance installation of Exchange 2010 in their office abroad, we currently support this system. Said client also has a site in London with Exchange 2010, we don't support it so cant access it but they have at least 2 Exchange servers.

They use a lot of mail enabled Public Folders which are linked to various other applications that they use.

In London they have set an item age limit on all PF and this works perfectly; 31days.
They have tried to implement the same thing abroad but most of the folders aren't being cleared down correctly.

I have looked into this issue for some time and cannot find any definitive answers as to why this wouldn't work.
The only difference between the two sites is public folder replication, this is currently not enabled at their site abroad as they only have one Exchange server.
My thinking is there is a strange link between the replication and the item age limits actually being processed?

So..

What would happen if I enabled public folder replication in an environment that only has one Exchange server?

Has anyone else seen this sort of thing before?

All input is welcome.

Cheers
Dan
