Just been at a customer site where they are implementing the targetaddress attribute on Exchange 2010
SMTP:[email protected]
I've not seen this done before although I can understand the reasons for implementing it. The Exchange consultant onsite said he thought it was assigned natively by Exchange when a user was created.
I've just looked through on my test lab and the targetaddress attribute is not set for any of my EX2010 users. If I set it (through ADSIedit for example), the users can no longer send/receive email.
Can someone shed some light on what it exactly does and why it doesn't work in my lab?
