I have a client that has had their exchange server upgraded from 2003 to 2010.

This was before my time.

I have been asked to add some addition accepted domains. I have done this. But they are not showing up as yet.

I have tried to edit their email address policy, they only have one, but it has not been migrated and therefore I cannot even view it.

Question is. what happens if I was to migrate it? Will the users see any impact?

I have been thinking of just creating a new policy but want to know what the effects of migrating the original would be.

Cheers!

The users shouldn't be able to tell any difference at all. I would make sure the OAB etc have all been migrated across before hand but it should still be able to communicate with the old 2003 server for that.

Hi Xez,

I believe the old server has been decommissioned already.

This is what is confusing me...

Sounds like you may want to read over a migration from 2003 to 2010 exchange as this will tell you how to check and what to do to move what is needed to the new server. It sounds to me like you will need to move all the OAB policy's and what not.

It could also be as simple as what brendy has said in that have you pointed the MX record to the correct place?

Why are you people talking about MX records? The address policy controls the assignment of email addresses to mailboxes. It has absolutely nothing to do with where you point your MX records.

Its like you heard some people say a few technical words once and are just repeating them to try and sound clever
