exchange gfx card - is this the right place?

Well if you have an Xfire board, so would like to do that, then the 1gb 4870's are great cards, they are about equal with the 260's, and then you could get another to Xfire. :)
 
Only problem if you are planning on xfire is the second graphics slot on the p35 pro (and nearly all p35 boards) only runs at 4x bandwidth rather than 16x, this would make xfire with 48xx series cards pointless. (IMO they should have designed P35 to default both slots to 8x bandwidth with xfire).
