OK - strange one for you.
Yesterday I added a new Distribution Group in Exchange.
I added a load of people to this group and a few minutes later I checked that the address appears in the Global Address List - it does.
2 people in my department confirm this - if they hit the "To" button in Outlook it is actually the very first entry.

I have however got one user who cannot see this new address.
She has restarted Outlook, restarted her machine.
Yet although she is reading from the GAL this one contact doesn't appear to her.

Any ideas?

Check the user is not Working in Offline mode - also disabled the Cache and log back on to see if that helps.

Outlook 2003 + use cached mode. When in this mode they use the offline address book at all times even when online. The address book is only created once every 24 hours and the client only initiates an update automatically once every 24 hours too. Potentially there can be a 2 day delay before people start seeing the updated address book.

To force it to update go to System Manager\Recipients\Offline Address Lists and then right click on Default Offline Address book on the right and select Rebuild. Wait a few minutes for this to complete (generally instant unless you have 1000's of entries).

Then on the client go to Tools\Send / Receive\Download Address book and make sure Full Address Book is selected. Voila!
