Has there been any development on this one yet?

I did see some articles a few months back saying that BT were trialing some PCP options for EO lines, but nothing much else after that.

Did the trial go ahead and if so, what were the findings and is there any move on OFCOM for allowing DSLAM equipment inside the exchanges?

Exchange only lines are only covered by BDUK funded projects.

A suitable place between the exchange and the end premises would have to be found for a fibre cabinet.

On exchange only lines if u look at your upstream Line Attenuation u can get a rough idea where the lines join to a main copper line which is the ideal place for a fibre cabinet.

Well seeing as they're rolling out fibre on demand at some point, I can't see why if you have deep pockets and don't intend to move home you wouldn't be able to get it.

I'm also on an exchange only line....Its super crap.......well not crap as I get around 23mb but its hardly fibre...

Compare it to some of us still stuck on 1-3.5mbps ADSL and suddenly that's rather fast indeed. There are plenty of people out there whom even FTTC offering 10mbps will be a drastic improvement.
