Hi

We have users with a variety of different smtp domains. At the moment all these users send email out through one route.

Now, there is a requirement for outbound emails from users with a certain smtp domain to flow through a different connection. What is the best way to acheive this?

I can setup another SMTP connector with a lower cost than the default connector and assign a security group to this, which will consist of people with this smtp domain. Is this the best way forward or is there a better way.

Thanks for your help

I did question why when we were asked (or is that told!!!) to do this, and I don't really agree with it.

Basically, we have merged with another company. We are still running two separte domains although we are now all in the same building. So that means that we have 2 exchange systems.

We both send emails out using our smtp domain. We use Messaglabs for all of our services and they company we merged with have an Iron Port appliance based in the US. The were a couple of problems. Firstly, the disclaimers that were added to the bottom of all emails were different. The text was the same but the formatting was different and couldn't be made to look the same. The marketing and brand people blew their heads at this

Another problem was that their was a intermittent time delay with emails going through the Iron Port. Now, as the new IT director is from their side, they refused to look at that problem and said that it didn't exist.

So basically this is happening because some marketing people threw their toys out of their pram, and the new IT director agrees with them.

Long explantion.....

We have tried, but ultimatley they appear different. We had a call with Messagelabs logged about it as well but they couldn't change the way it appeared.

Yep it is. I don't agree with doing this but at the end of the day I don't have any choice, so is the way I specified the best way or is it easier another way.
