Hi,

My exchange server works but when a user sends mail through it, most of the SMTP mail sent gets classed as spam and either gets bounced back or goes in the recipients spam folder.

Is this because my IP address is dynamic?

Butters - Not a problem! :)

OK, have you asked your ISP for a Fixed IP address?
If so, you can either wait for that to become active - or if you need to send mail in the mean time, you can set up a Smart Host connector in Exchange that will Send mail via your ISP's mail server.

Basically, your Exchange server hands any SMTP messages over to your ISP's Mail server, which in turn delivers the mail for you - hence the ISP mail server won't be treated as a Spam sender (which your seeing at the moment!).

Hope this gives you some idea?

Ok, when you say ISP, do you mean my physical broadband provider or do you mean the people responsible for hosting (tsohost)

Thanks

ISP - the people Responsible for your Internet connection (BT, Demon ect..)

They will have mail servers, that you should be able to "relay" through.

Any probs - give me a shout

Smart host is the safest route. If you want to send the mail yourself, you'd need:

1. Fixed IP.
2. Reverse DNS entries.
3. SPF records - I find some, e.g. AOL, will bounce mail without this.
