Hi All,

Recently a colleague of mine implemented a Microsoft Exchange 2003 mail server at a company and bought a SSL certificate from a valid CA (Comodo).

We can use webmail without any issues, and the SSL certificate is valid through all our browsers.

Some phones however, are having issues.

We have a range of Nokia/apple/Samsung etc phones.

All the iPhones work without issues.

Some Nokia phones will work fine without issues
Some Nokia phones will complain the SSL certificate is not valid
Some Nokia phones will fail to work at all when specified IMAP over SSL.

All phones will work if we allow non-SSL encrypted IMAP traffic.

It really seems to be hit or miss, I've gone through updating phone software on those that don't work but that's not made a difference.

Unfortunately, a lot of people rely on e-mail access over their phones (field engineers) and I'd rather not allow non-encrypted IMAP traffic due to compliance requirements.

Other than assuming that some phones are just quite sensitive in this area, is there anything else I can check out/configure that might alleviate this issue?

Thanks,

David
