Any Exchange Guru's out there i'm having a right headache here at work!!

Were running Exchange 2003 with latest SP's

For some reason mail forwarding does not work within distribution groups

I have a member and his account in AD is setup to forward his exchange e-mail onto another external e-mail which works fine, but when I add him into a distribution group the e-mails dont get forwarded on anyideas guys?

Zaf, are you talking about emails sent to the distribution group or him directly?

It sounds like your talking about forwarding emails sent to the distribution group, as i understand it, the forward is there for direct emails sent to them as an individual where as emails sent to a distribution group are the recipients..

I will check to see what I can find if that's what your trying to do?

We have a customer who sends an e-mail to a Dist Group and within that group x amount of employees recieve that e-mail! One of the employees accounts is setup to forward all e-mail onto his external e-mail account and not his exchange account.

When just sending him an e-mail to his exchange account it forwards onto his external account fine, but it dont seem to forward on when the Dist group is e-mailed

Hi Zaf,

not the ultimate answer, but couldnt you get said employee who gets it forwarded to his other email address just to use OWA. Might save everyone a headache?

Has this employee got a contact defined in AD and is his AD mail account forwarding to the contact object? Also are you able to forward to any other external accounts as I have seen it quite often where external forwarding is disabled/blocked.
